A LITTLE HELP, RIGHT HERE
Back to your words.
Let’s get you there.
Start with the part you need. Your saved instruction stays in your account when you update or reconnect.
How do I get started?
- Get Mio for your computer. Sign in with Google, then open the download.
- Open Mio and choose Sign in with Google. Your browser brings you back to the app. On Mac, allow Accessibility when Mio explains why it needs it.
- Try the selected practice sentence. Press your shortcut, then choose Start writing.
On a phone? Save a link for your computer. Mio’s shortcut currently works on Mac and Windows.
My shortcut isn’t rewriting.
- Open Mio from your Mac menu bar or beside the Windows clock. Check that it says your shortcut is ready.
- Choose Try your shortcut. If the practice rewrite fails, check your internet connection and the message Mio shows.
- Try a selected sentence in an ordinary editable text box. Keep the same words selected until Mio finishes.
- Choose Change shortcut if another app uses your key. On Mac, check Mio’s Accessibility permission in System Settings.
Passwords, terminals, read-only fields and some editors aren’t supported. Windows apps running as administrator may block replacement. A failed request should leave your text unchanged. Use your editor’s Undo if you need to restore an edit.
How do I sign in or manage my plan?
Use the same Google account on each computer. Sign in and connect Mio. If a connection link expires, choose Get a fresh connection; each code works once within ten minutes.
Open Your plan to see your allowance or choose Manage subscription to update payment details or cancel renewal through Stripe. Uninstalling Mio does not cancel a subscription.
Account access is handled by Google. If you can’t access Google, use its account recovery flow. Mio never asks for your Google password. Contact us below for help with your Mio account or a data-deletion request.
Where do I change my writing style?
In Mio, choose My instruction. Pick Auto, choose a preset, or write your own instruction, then save. It applies to your connected computers. How Auto works →
Can I close the window?
Yes. Close window keeps Mio available in the menu bar or beside your clock. Quit Mio stops the app and its shortcut. Reopen Mio whenever you want to use it again.
How do I update or start fresh?
Quit Mio from its menu, then open the latest download. On Mac, replace the copy in Applications. On Windows, open the new installer. Your settings are retained. For a full local reset, use Remove Mio, then reinstall. Your online account and subscription are separate.
What happens to my private details?
Mio masks detected details on your computer and restores them after rewriting. Detection can miss details. Remaining text goes to Mio and Gemini over HTTPS. This is not end-to-end encrypted AI. See what stays private and what doesn’t →
Still need a hand?
Tell us your Mac or Windows version, Mio version, the app you’re writing in, and what happened. Use a harmless example. Don’t include passwords, connection codes or private drafts.
